- With Moses when he ascends Mt Sinai and God gives the Law. (Exodus 24:13)
- Heard the shouting in the camp when they returned from the mountain to find the law already broken. Watches Moses destroy the stone tablets. (Exodus 32:17)
- Was fed 40 years in the wilderness with mana from heaven, as well as water from rocks and quail for meat. (Exodus 16:35)

- Was a servant of Moses from his youth (Numbers 11:28)
- Joshua and Caleb were the only two spies who urged the people to take the promised land (Numbers 14:6-10)
- After Moses dies Joshua is the new leader. He is described as a leader, a shepherd, a man who is spirit filled, has authority, and is commissioned for the task. (Numbers 27:15-23)
- Joshua’s feet split the Jordan river just like he had experienced as a young boy with Moses leading the way. (Joshua 3:16)

- First battle in promised land sees God miraculously bring the walls of Jericho down. (Joshua 6:20)
- And at the end of his life, Joshua gives land in faith to the people coming after him. He didn’t see it conquered yet but believed it would be. (Joshua 13:7)
- He calls the leaders together and recounts the whole story. (Joshua 24)
